My performing career includes playing as a regular member of various ensembles and orchestras, as well as freelancing with leading groups all over the world. I use many different types of trombone, from copies of 16th-century sackbuts, through trombones of various sizes and countries, including ‘classical’ instruments of Mozart, French 19th century slide and valve-trombones, German trombones, and English ‘peashooters’ such as would have been known by Holst and Elgar, to modern instruments in settings from solo recitals up to large orchestral works and covering baroque, jazz, contemporary and classical styles, among others…
