27-29 April 2018 sees the first edition of the Early Music workshops in San Sebastián-Donostia, Spain. San Sebastián is one of the most beautiful coastal towns in the Spanish Basque-Country and the workshop will be directed by Adam Woolf, an internationally recognised performer and teacher of early baroque and renaissance workshops will follow a format crafted on the experience of leading such workshops all over the world for nearly 15 years.
Singer and players will come together from all over the world to enjoy music from 16th and 17th century Spain and Italy, culminating in a public concert on the Sunday evening and also performing in the mass at the Basilica of St Mary in the Chorus on the Saturday evening.
Specialist techniques and approaches to performance style and interpretation will be addressed while workshopping glorious polychoral music over the course of the long-weekend.
Wind players also have the opportunity of extending their stay by a day to receive individual tuition and/or ensemble coaching, for which an extra fee will be applicable. Contact me for more information.
There will also be a chance for modern trombonists to borrow a sackbut and take their first steps into this world of music-making in good company!
Tuition fee: €80. Student discount is 15%.
Established ensembles of more than four people receive a discount of 15% per person.
